BeckyBecky's Profile

My name is Becky Webb. I’m 19 years old. I came to Four Paws Aqua in November 2010. I was directed here from the Job Centre on a programme called the Future Job Fund (FJF). When I first came here I wasn’t very confident and hated answering phones. Since I have been here I have grown in confidence, I’m now able to speak and interact with others a lot better. My phone communications have improved.

LAUREN APPRENTICE HYDROTHERAPIST

My name is Lauren i am one of the supervisors here at four paws aqua. I have been here for 2 years now due to completing my work expereience for my college course. I have learnt alot from being at four paws and hope that this will continue. I am currently training to be a qualified hydroptherapist and started an apprenticeship in april this year. I am interested in animal behaviour and physcology and am looking into doing a course and being involved in it as it would play a big part in our doggy day care service. I have 2 dogs of my own and a rabbit who i also spend alot of time with inside and outside of work.

HAYLEY WEBB APPRENTICE

My name is Hayley Webb and i am 20 years old. I started working here at four paws aqua on a 6 month contract, i was completing a job funded by the government which was called future job fund. I was to complete this as i had been on jobseekers allowance for a while as i hadn’t been able to get a job. When i first started i was just a receptionist but as the months went on my job role changed to doggy day care assistant. When my 6 month contract had finished i came back to volunteer for a while because i enjoyed working here.

I sat down with Karen one day and spoke to her about doing an apprenticeship alongside Lauren and Becky. We agreed on a payment and then i started the apprenticeship. I have now been here just over a year and i am still enjoying it, also i am now one of the supervisors. I found i had more confidence in myself since i started working here, also found i was losing weight due to the dog walking everyday which was a great help to me. So now not only do i have a job but it’s a job i enjoy and a job that has helped me with my confidence, my weight and my ability to speak with the public.

LUCY KITE APPRENTICELucy

My name is Lucy Kite i am 19 years old and I’m on an apprenticeship here at four paws aqua. It all started out because I was on jobseekers allowance and had been for at least 8 months.  When i went to sign on one day they suggested i get involved in doing an 8 week work experience placement so they gave me a piece of paper with the details I could email my cv to.

I sent my cv to four paws aqua and heard back within 2 days and they got me down for an interview. I was then told I could start my 8 week work experience straight away. I was enjoying my time here and didn’t really want it to end but i was due to start an animal management course at south downs college once i completed my placement but then one day in what was meant to be my last week at four paws Karen asked me if i would like to start an apprenticeship so i could learn and work at the same time which was ideal for me as I’m more of a hands on working girl.
